Best Beaches in Maldives

If you’re looking to go on an exotic vacation abroad and make the most of your time away, you’ll want to know about some of the best beaches in the Maldives. From the ever-popular Reethi Beach on Baa Atoll, to the little-known Nalaguraidhoo beach on South Ari Atoll, there are amazing beaches for everyone! Check out a list of our favorites below.

Reethi Beach

The beaches of Maldives are world-renowned, but that goes double for Baa Atoll’s Reethi Beach, a remarkable island with unspoiled beauty and tranquility that you won’t find anywhere else. What makes the beach so spectacular? With its white sands, crystal clear waters and the sound of waves crashing on the shore, it’s no wonder why Reethi Beach is known as one of the best beaches in Maldives. The perfect place to disconnect and relax, Reethi Beach has every activity imaginable to make sure your vacation is nothing short of perfect. Snorkel in a coral lagoon surrounded by colorful fish or try diving alongside turtles in Baa Atoll, which was named an UNESCO Biosphere Reserve in 2011. If you want to get out into open water, take an excursion for some deep sea fishing or go on a sunset cruise.

After spending all day fun-filled activities or laying under the sun on soft white sand, head back to your luxury accommodation at one of Reethi Beach Resort’s luxurious villas. This eco-friendly resort is situated along a 1.5 kilometer stretch on the beach and lies within a breathtakingly beautiful coconut grove. Each villa has its own private veranda and direct access to either the garden or beach – making it easy to enjoy stunning views from sunrise until sunset!

Nalaguraidhoo beach

The 5-star Mercure Maldives Kooddoo Resort is located on the island of Kooddoo, and offers a direct seaplane transfer. The hotel features an infinity pool and luxurious overwater villas with private sundecks.

This beach is not only one of the longest beaches in the Maldives, but also one of the best you can find in this archipelago. It is a good choice for those who prefer to stay away from crowds, as it is isolated and secluded. There are some resorts nearby; however, you can still enjoy your privacy if you don’t visit those places readily available to tourists.

You can find the beach on Nalaguraidhoo Island (Gaafu Alifu Atoll), which is located in Southern Maldives.

If you are going there by plane or helicopter (sometimes they use helicopters during transfers), be ready for some breathtaking views: tunnels carved into coral outcrops and a lot of spray from waves crashing against them will surely impress you! If you choose speedboat transfer, get ready for experiencing more high-speed thrills along an incredibly beautiful route.

Dhigurah beach

Dhigurah is an island in the Maldives that’s 22.3 kilometers long and 1.2 kilometers wide, making it the largest island in Ari Atoll. Dhigurah is southwest of Maamigili and its western side is bordered by Biyadhoo Kandu, a channel through which you can snorkel with reef sharks and turtles.

Known for its long stretches of white sand beaches and crystal clear turquoise waters, Dhigurah has become a popular tourist destination thanks to its great atmosphere, friendly locals and accessibility as it’s only 32 minutes away from Male International Airport by speedboat or seaplane.

There are plenty places to stay in Dhigurah including luxury resorts located on the west coast of the island overlooking Biyadhoo Kandu, guesthouses on main beach such as Equator Village Hotel, coffee shops like The Chill Coffee Shop or small hostels like Dhigufaru Hostel which offers dorm rooms for backpackers looking to meet fellow travelers while on a budget.

If you want to get away from your resort and do some shopping then check out The Corner Market which sells souvenirs at reasonable prices imported from Malaysia along with local hand-crafted items made by the locals themselves. There are also dozens of cafes located in town serving up freshly brewed coffee from all over the world if you need a quick pick me up after exploring all day long!

Vakarufalhi beach

Situated on the south side of Ari Atoll, Vakarufalhi beach is a popular destination for visitors to enjoy this beautiful island’s pristine beaches and coral reefs. The entire island only has a small population, which means you’ll never have to fight for space on the white sands of its beach. While you’re there, take part in the various activities offered on the island—snorkeling, diving, kayaking and even sunset cruises. After participating in just one of these exciting adventures, you’ll see why Vakarufalhi Island is considered one of the best beaches in Maldives.

Fulhadhoo island beach

Fulhadhoo offers the most unspoiled beach of all the local islands. It’s a place to go if you are seeking out a more authentic Maldivian experience, as opposed to visiting one of the luxury resorts that dot the archipelago. This small island is located in the Baa Atoll, so it is surrounded by coral reefs and an abundance of marine life. There’s plenty to do here: snorkel, swim, dolphin watch, take part in a fishing expedition or simply enjoy a day on this pristine stretch of beach.

If you want to explore other areas around Fulhadhoo Island you can arrange a sailing trip on one of the island dhoni’s (traditional Maldivian boat), or make your way over to nearby resorts Hanifaru Bay and/or Dhigurah Beach. The best time to visit Fulhadhoo is between March and April when you will get a chance to witness whale sharks passing through during their migration season.

Bandos island beach

If you’re looking for a quiet, relaxing atmosphere, Bandos Island beach is the place to be. The white sand and crystal-clear water make this beach one of the most popular in the Maldives.

Although snorkeling is available all around the islands, Bandos Beach is internationally known as one of the best places to snorkel in the world because of its low population density and diverse aquatic life.

A visit to Bandos Island beach will surely leave you with an unforgettable experience!
